Get the exact equipment in writing
A brand name or a photo is not a model specification. Compare panel quantities, inverter ratings, usable battery capacity and the accessories needed for the promised features. Ask for the proposed panel layout and equipment locations.
Separate included work from assumptions
Check roof access, mounting, cable runs, switchboard work, monitoring and metering arrangements. A cheaper total may cover a different scope. Ask how site changes and extra work are priced and approved.
Understand the savings assumptions
Ask which electricity rates, generation estimate and household-use pattern support the savings estimate. Check whether a battery model includes losses, reserve settings and degradation. Savings depend on your actual system and use; they are not a substitute for a clear installed price.
Know who is responsible
Check the contracting business, the accredited designer and installer, payment stages, warranty terms and after-sales contact. If you are comparing finance, compare the total amount payable as well as the regular repayment.
